We want to share a recent visit that we made to BCBG San Francisco. On this trip, I got the opportunity to try on and review several of the new Herve Leger dresses. Take a look to decide if any of them belong on your wishlist!

I didn't think that this dress would look good on me as I'm short-waisted. Surprisingly, this dress was a delight. The white fabric was thick and had an excellent fit. However, the Josey dress is $3190+tax at retail.

This next aline dress was also quite pretty. If I were to be very picky, I'd have to say that the banding right in the middle of the torso did not work for my particular body type. So far, I've been a huge fan of most Herve Leger flared dresses!

Out of all of the dresses that I tried on during this trip, this beige beaded dress had the most amazing hold and fit. The nude color accompanied with sparkly beading was very sexy. I could not find this dress online, but it is on sale for $1100 in stores. This dress runs small.

Most flared Herve Leger dresses retail $1200 and upwards. This is the only one that retails under $1000. Unfortunately, out of all of the flared skirt Herve Leger dresses, this one had the least hold. All of the other drop-waisted a-line Herve Leger dresses that I've tried have a firmer hold. However, it is still a fun pretty dress!

Red and white are the most beautiful colors that a woman could wear! The color alone makes it a winner! The fit on this dress is looser than most Herve Leger.

Every time I try on new Herve Leger dresses, I make it a point to try on dresses that have ornate designs or interesting shapes. The ruffles on this dress add a sweetness to it. The dress had great hold, but it is much tighter around the hip and hem compared to most other Herve Leger dresses.

This last dress (Kauri) was surprisingly lovely! The fit was phenomenal! And, if you already have a giant Herve Leger collection like me, this dress will bring some variety to your collection. It looks so different! This dress also runs small.

Hope that you found these reviews helpful! 🙂

I've been meaning to get to the Herve Leger boutique for a while now. Things have been particularly hectic, but I did manage to stop at a local Nordstrom and try on a few Herve Leger dresses. In this review, I try on a number of really unique pieces that include separates, a flared skirt and a dress with elaborate patterns.

Loved this Herve Leger top called the Pamela, which I actually wore backwards! It has an amazing fit and is super versatile. This top would look fantastic with many non-Herve Leger skirts and jeans.

The Sabine skirt was not as impressive. Given its high waistline, it would be challenging to pair with non-Herve Leger tops.

I've wanted to try this dress for so long! The colors and design are so lovely! Unfortunately, they didn't have my size in the Linden dress and I had to size up 2 sizes! As a result, this dress was too long and did not fit properly. In spite of that, I think this dress would be very pretty if it were the correct size.

The Philipe jacket had a great fit, but it was not particularly memorable.

This final one was an unexpected favorite. The scoop neckline with short sleeves really balance out the mini length of the dress. While the pattern keeps the dress very chic and modern.

This dress called the Anja is also extremely versatile. I'm actually wearing shoes with a very low heel. This gorgeous little number can be dressed down with flats, or glammed up with heels. Either way, it looks completely perfect. This is one of those few Herve Leger dresses that can be worn for more casual events!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Herve Leger shopping trip! The few items that I did get to try on have only made me want to get to the Herve Leger boutique that much more!

Though Herve Leger is famous in the fashion world, very few know about the brand's history. Herve Leger bandage dresses have only been in production from 1989-1997 and from 2008-present.

"I like to make women look beautiful, who want to please and be noticed."

"Designing clothes is not really a mystery, as long as you keep one important thing in mind - the body."

These are some of my favorite quotes from Herve Peugnet, the creator of Herve Leger bodycon dresses. They explain exactly why so many women love these form-fitting dresses.

Herve Peugnet has an extremely impressive fashion resume. At the early age of 23, fashion god, Karl Lagerfeld recognized his talent and took him under his training. During his career, he has contributed to the designs of Chanel, Lanvin, Fendi, Diane von Furstenburg, Chloe and Swarovski.

At age 28, he begins working for himself, creating the Herve Leger line. 4 years later, bandage dresses were born! They were inspired by his experience in designing bathing suits and some throwaway seam bindings. The first bandage dress was also the finale look of Herve Leger's 1989 runway show. The bandage dress, originally called "bender dress" became an instant sensation. They were called "bender," because they molded the body into the perfect female form.

Let's take a moment and admire the beauty of vintage Herve Leger dresses:

Please note that the dress as seen on Megan Fox is HIGHLY counterfeited. Should you see this sold on eBay or other peer to peer marketplaces, you should know that it is almost always fake.

These vintage dresses are completely timeless. Hot then, and still HOT now!

Before Herve Leger was acquired by BCBG, Herve Peugnet designed some very exclusive dresses. These were tagged Herve Leger couture. A mannequin would be created based on the exact measurements of his client. Then, keeping the client's best features in mind, a truly special dress would be meticulously made.

Because Herve Peugnet was not the majority holder of Herve Leger, the company was sold to BCBG is 1998. Shortly thereafter, BCBG halts production on bender dresses and fires Herve Peugnet. Bender dresses, now bandage dresses were relaunched in 2008 under BCBG Max Azria Herve Leger. Many today do not realize that Herve Leger dresses were around much earlier than 2008. Herve Peugnet still designs absolutely beautiful clothing. They are now designed under Herve Leroux, a name that was suggested by his dear friend Karl Lagerfeld. *They are VERY expensive!* The quality is not necessarily better in my personal opinion.

Thanks for reading! And, a special thank you to mariloupop, who requested this article! We hope that you enjoyed learning a little bit about Herve Leger's history. If there's a topic that you'd love the Lollipuff blog to cover, leave us a comment or shoot us an email. 🙂

At Lollipuff, we are blessed to know some of the most amazing ladies. Recently, Sara, one of our favorite users emailed us pictures of her Herve Leger shopping trip. She is super sweet to share these with everyone! Hope that you enjoy looking at these wonderful modeling pics!

After trying on these items, she bought one them. Which Herve Leger is your favorite and which one do you think she purchased?

Sara picked and purchased the first dress, the fun flared strapless dress in ombre shades! We have to say that each dress was really flattering on her, and any of the dresses would have been an amazing closet addition. 🙂

Thanks for reading and looking! Hope you loved all the modeling pictures!

Got to try on 4 additional Herve Leger dresses and couldn't wait to share these with you! Herve Leger really does make the best dresses! The fit usually ranges from good to amazing, which explains why the brand has such a cult following! Here's some pics of the beautiful bandage dresses with some of my personal opinions on each.

Karina:

black and beige Herve Leger bandage dress

The Karina does a great job shaping the body. It really cinches in the waist and enhances cleavage. It has an interesting colorblock design that seems to minimize hips, and will be just above the knees for most heights.

Nerina:

black and white Herve Leger mini dress

For me, I found this dress a bit too short for my taste. But, for girls who love very short hemlines or are petite, this is a great dress! The lines on this dress emphasize the waist and slightly elongate the body.

Jette:

striped navy brown white Herve LEger bodycon dress

On this trip, the Jette was the stylist's and my husband's favorite. The fit is fantastic as it's individually banded. Absolutely no belly pooch here! It's also a really unique dress compared to most Herve Leger dresses due to its fun striped pattern. VERY VERY flattering to the woman's body shape.

Faith:

pretty red a-line dress

The fit and flare style is very popular right now. This dress shape has been used a lot this season from many designers. Personally, I think Herve Leger does fit and flare the best.

This dress is not as much of a super shaper like the Jette or Karina, but the dress style is still fantastic.

I love love trying on Herve Leger dresses, the best dresses in the world in my opinion! In my recent trip to the Herve Leger boutique I tried on 6 different dresses. In my opinion, all 6 were pretty fantastic. You be the judge! Which dresses do you love and which ones do you hate?

First up is the very sexy showstopper, Billie. It's a mini length with a revealing neckline. What I really like about this dress is the black vertical band. It's very slimming. Since I've been sitting around for 3 months straight in front of my computer, my body isn't exactly... toned. lol... But, with this fantastic dress, you can't tell. 🙂

Herve Leger mini dress

A fit and flare is a dress that I REALLY want in my collection. They're still sexy, but are a unique departure from most Herve Leger dresses. And, since a fit and flare is so different from any of the dresses in my large collection, it's an even better excuse to get it. 😀

ruffled skirt light purple Herve Leger dress

Out of the 6 dresses that I tried this time, this was surprisingly my favorite. The reason? It's the HOLD! This thing really shapes your body beautifully. OMG, is this flattering! It's no wonder why this dress has been seen on so many celebrities.

The fit around the waist was much better on this one than the lilac one above.

Just another amazing dress. This metallic dress is the perfect balance of sexy and sophistication

Hope you enjoyed seeing some new Herve Leger dresses. 😀

I recently took a trip to the Herve Leger San Francisco boutique. I tried on some seriously beautiful dresses, including several from the recent 2013 collection! Trying on dresses is a great way to figure out which dresses look best on your body, and can help you decide which ones to add to your wishlist... so you can snag 'em when a good deal appears on Lollipuff. 😉

Melody, my favorite Herve Leger stylist and sales associate, helped me pick out 7 different dresses to try on.

Most Herve Legers have an amazing fit... but some seem like they are made just for you -- which is why it's so easy to get addicted to Herve! This one was my favorite of the trip. The drop waist is ideal for those with a very short torso, like me.

Here it is with a Herve Leger belt:

I did not think this colorblock dress (Parker) would look good on me. It is very similar to some of the vintage 1990's Herve Leger pieces. But I was pleasantly surprised -- it was super-cute, quite flattering, and totally timeless!

colorblock Herve Leger dress

To be honest, the dress was so out of my price range that I don't even remember the price without looking it up -- it is $3250. Looking at this dress, you can see why it costs so much! It obviously took some real skill (and creativity) to make this dress: tiny individual bands throughout along with shimmery bead-work! If you want phenomenal shaping and have the money to spend... this dress might just be the one.

This next dress, Bridget, was one of Melody's favorites. She debated purchasing this very dress for herself. I can certainly understand why she likes it so much:

ombre orange Herve Leger

You may recognize the next dress. I own the black and white version and am head over heels in love with it. However, I'm not entirely impressed with this blue version -- it just doesn't fit the same (or have the same spark) as my flattering black-and-white one. Strange.

The Anaya dress below is very busy looking. With a whole lot of design and a whole lot of flare, this dress swallowed up my small frame! On the right body, this could be a fantastic dress.

The final dress is a beautiful, chic, one-shoulder ombre piece, Eliana. By the way, you can see the sexy Miss Melody on one side of the picture. 😉

With the recent move to the Bay Area (for Lollipuff's development), I’m now much closer to stores that sell high-end designer items. San Francisco is pretty fantastic! Earlier this week, I popped by the BCBG / Herve Leger boutique. Here, let me share.

Actually, this was the first boutique I visited after arriving in San Francisco. It's actually a BCBG boutique, but it currently stocks Herve Leger as well. For now, they are at 331 Powell Street; however, I hear that Herve Leger will (soon?) be moving into it's own location nearer the Chanel store (yay!).

Since most of these high high end brands only exist in large cities, here are some eye candy pictures of the store!

Anyway, while I was there I met with Melody -- one of the best Herve Leger sales associates in the world. She helped me pick out and try on a few different dresses. I’ve worked with Melody in the past over the phone and email, but this was our first meeting... She is a total sweetheart!

I’ll get pictures of my try on Herve Leger dresses online in a future post! Some of the dresses in the next season are real treasures!

Being super picky and always requiring the item to be “a good deal,” I am one very difficult person to shop for! Even giftcards usually take me 3 years to spend, because I’m just THAT picky… unless it’s Amazon. So, for Christmas, I like to tell my loved ones, to not waste their money. Nothing at all is better than spending $50 on 5 lbs of Bath and Body Works lotion that I’ll never use.

For Christmas, I ALWAYS get myself something.  And, gifting to oneself usually comes a little early.

For Christmas 2012, the Ari, a dress that I’ve been wanting for quite a while is finally mine! Here’s my review for it!

modeling tight Herve Leger bandage dress

If you followed or read my old website, pre-Lollipuff, you may know that I’ve had my eye on this dress for quite a while. I’ve tried it on in several different colors at the Herve Leger boutique.

Herve Leger ari dress

Let me count the ways that I love the Ari dress!

  1. It’s individually banded, providing superior shaping.
  2. Really pushes the girls up and gives fantastic cleavage.
  3. Allows for a bra, if you want to.
  4. Inverted hemline really elongates legs.
  5. Just a super sexy well designed style!

The Ari comes in several different colors. So far, I’ve seen red, black, gray, white, pink coral and blue. Be very careful! There are more fakes of the Ari than real on sites like eBay…  Right now as I’m writing this, the most commonly faked are the red and gray.

The Ari also runs half a size small. While I’d love to have an xxs in this dress, I had to settle for an xs due to availability.

The Ari has been worn by many celebrities. Just in gorgeous Victoria Secret supermodels alone, I know of at least 3 who have worn the Ari! Candice Swanepoel, Chanel Iman, and most recently… Erin Heatherton!!
