Much to my surprise, Herve Leger's Fall 2016 runway show had me staring at the hair just as much as the clothes. With hair on one side flowing, and the other braided up, the look was not only super edgy, but also romantic, resembling the look of wind-blown hair.
This flattering, totally doable hairstyle had me online looking for a how-to. And, I found it!
As according to Vogue's backstage experience, here's how to recreate this edgy hairstyle.
Step 1: Apply a small amount of TRESemmé Perfectly (un)Done Wave Creation Sea Foam to the roots.
Step 2: Rough-dry the hair to enhance its natural texture.
Step 3: Create an uneven deep side part and begin French braiding and twisting the plait from the forehead to the nape of the neck. Then secure twisted plait with a small elastic and bobby pins.
Step 4: Run a straightener over the top of the hair at the part line and shake hair over the shoulders to cover up the end of the braid.
Step 5: Hairspray to hold the hair.
The look is effortlessly hip. And, if you want to make it even more wearable, braid less of the hair and secure it with a hair elastic.
The following look is as easy as it gets and was achieved without any hair product. Usually when I wear my hair down, it looks disheveled without at least a little help from a hair iron or curler, but this look allows me to skip the need for heat.
1. When hair is damp, simply part the hair, exposing more of the "good" side of the face and braid the side with less hair.
2. Instead of wrapping it underneath, braid downwards and secure it with a hairband. Let the whole thing air dry, and voila!
I found this hairstyle to be very flattering and easy to pull off. Try it yourself, and let me know how it went! :)
