Someone recently asked us, "How bad is the counterfeit problem on eBay?" It's bad. We did a search for ended "Herve Leger" listings, and eBay provided roughly 147 listings that ended between Feb 19th and Feb 26th. More than 60% of Herve Leger (90 out of 147) sold on eBay were fake. To put that into perspective... More than half the girls who wanted one of these beautiful dresses were scammed -- eBay made more profit from fakes than authentic Herve. That's the entire reason we're building Lollipuff...
Sadly, this wasn't surprising to us. At times, more than 75% of the Herve sold on eBay is counterfeit. This is sad and unacceptable. That's why we're building a marketplace that is better suited to buying and selling designer goods... and why Lollipuff's brand experts authenticate each and every item.
OK, on to the evidence. Of the 147 listings... 90 were counterfeit, 49 were authentic, 6 had insufficient photographs and/or no photos of the actual item (probably fake?), and two were not Herve:
Our experts did not classify any items as "fake" unless they were absolutely sure, based on the description and images provided from the seller.
Lollipuff aims to provide a platform for honest buyers and sellers of designer goods by vetting each and every listing before it's published. Purchase Herve Leger dresses at huge savings with confidence here. Each listing on Lollipuff is backed up with an authenticity guarantee.
