My cellphone is where? Sometimes, a girl's just got to go without a bag. Here's a great accessory for when you want to go dancing.
I was having a chat with Chomel (one of the beautiful ladies on Lollipuff) about what she was going to do with her Chanel bag when she goes dancing. While I just tend to dance with my small evening bag in hand or on my shoulder, this can be burdensome.
I remember seeing something about a garter purse a while back. The idea is intriguing, but I was skeptical. How was the thing going to look under a tight dress? Will it really be secure? Will it eventually start sloping down my leg? Is it comfortable? How much can it hold, and will it support my huge cellphone?
Being faced with Chomel's challenge, it was my duty to investigate this potential solution!
And, I'm pleased to report that the garter belt was a total success even under a tight body-shaping Herve Leger dress! Can you believe that I'm wearing the garter purse under my dress, and it is totally undetectable from front to back?
Not all garter purses are created equal. Some do not carry as much, and many have a tendency to fall down. After reading many reviews and reviewing specs, I went with this one , because Stash Bandz garter purse has 2 pockets, many different size selections, and most of the reviews were glowing.
The garter purse has one pocket with cover flap, and one back pocket without a cover. The back pocket holds larger items like an XL cellphone. My huge Nexus 6P measures 6.25 x 3 inches and fit securely in the back pocket. Regular-sized cellphones can fit in the flapped pocket.
In this review, I put a few cards, 2 small keys, a few bills, and an XL cellphone in this garter bag! And, it all fit very very comfortably and securely. Delightfully surprising to me!
Sizing was accurate. If you are on the small end of their sizing chart, it's probably safe to size down. So, if you normally wear US 0-2, go with XS. US 4-8, pick S. 10-14, pick M. US 16-18, go with L. With accessories like these, it's better to have it be a little tighter rather than slightly looser.
The XS fit very well around my thigh. I even did a jumping test, where I jumped up and down for a full minute. The garter belt proved to be secure and did not budge. YAY!!
A couple things to keep in mind though...
First, if you have a very large phone and are wearing a very mini dress, the garter purse may end up showing. :/
Second, for very tight dresses, the pocket will need to be positioned on the inner thigh rather than the outer thigh. This makes retrieving items awkward and too scandalous in public. ...Be sure to turn vibrate off...
Hope you enjoyed this! I am super excited to have found this item. Don't be shy. Be sure to ask any questions you want answered. :)
