Chanel 2.55 reissue bags may have been the bag that started the Chanel bag empire! Created in February 1955, this amazingly classic bag continues to be a mainstay in fashion. We've collected a bunch of celebrity 2.55 reissue flap bags and reissue camera case bags for your viewing pleasure!
The reissue bag is the true 2.55. The classic flap is oftentimes also referred as the 2.55, but it was made much later than February 1955. Chanel reissues vary somewhat from the classic flap bags. Chanel reissue flap bags are always double flapped, whereas Chanel classic flaps are not. Chanel reissue bags most commonly come in calfskin, whereas Chanel classic flaps are most commonly lambskin or caviar leather. Reissues also usually have all metal chains. And, most notably, reissue bags have a mademoiselle clasp instead of a double CC logo clasp.
Oddly enough, even though this bag came before the classic flap, some find it to look more modern. :)
