This DIY make your own bag shaper can be made for almost any bag that needs a little extra structure. There are many ready-to-use bag shapers, but it can be difficult to find one that fits just right for your bag. The search may be much more exhaustive than just making it yourself. :)
For this DIY, we used a Louis Vuitton Speedy to demonstrate. But, you can use this for a Salina, Neverfull, or non-Louis Vuitton bag!
1. The bag that needs more base support
4. Pen or Pencil
5. Duct Tape. We used 3M Transpore Tape in this tutorial, but later found out that 3M Transpore Tape had poor adherence over time.
First, trace the bottom of the bag onto the cardboard.
Next, cut out the form. Cut smaller than the outline; the bag shaper should not fit too tightly inside. Then, round the corners, so there are no sharp angles.
The last step is important. Apply and wrap the duct tape onto the edges. This makes the edges more smooth and soft. Without this, the edges of the DIY shaper can be too abrasive inside the bag.
Voila! The final result! Super easy and very effective. :)
