Two Secret Health Drinks

Owning beautiful designer dresses provides extra motivation for maintaining your weight. Otherwise, all those gorgeous dresses won't fit anymore! And, gosh forbid that I have to let go of any of my Herve Leger and try to find them in another size! Here are two drinks that have made that task much easier. In no way do these drinks substitute good diet and exercise, but they certainly rev up your metabolism and make your body feel good and clean. These drinks are saviors, particularly during family holidays and vacations when excessive feasting occurs and when there is no time to exercise.

Morning Lemon Tea

1 cup of hot water
wedge of lemon (cannot be substituted by lime)

Instructions: Squeeze lemon wedge so that the juice goes into the hot water. Put the wedge into the hot water, and drink while hot/warm.
Benefits: Stimulates the liver for Toxin flush, weight maintenance/loss, clear skin, immune system boost.

A few years ago, most people did not know of this tip. But, now it's quite common, and on a regular basis I see this drink on blogs and magazines. The most wonderful thing about this drink is how simple it is! In order to reap all of its benefits, it is absolutely imperative to drink this while it is hot/warm, shortly after you wake up, and at least 30 minutes before you eat anything. My entire body feels a bit more refreshed when I do this.

Some people, including supermodel Miranda Kerr, make this tea part of their everyday morning ritual. But, you don't have to do this everyday; drink this when you've been particularly bad with food and/or exercise.

Apple Cider Vinegar Shot

1/2 tablespoon apple cider vinegar
A shot of water

Instructions: Combine water and vinegar and bottoms up like a shot of whiskey before a meal with lots of starch (bread, rice, potatoes, pasta, etc).
Benefits: Blocks a lot of starch from converting to sugar. Will not help with candy and sweets. Use this shot only every once in a while. Do not drink routinely on a daily basis.

Do you have a tendency to gain weight when you eat lots of starches? Me too! I got to be honest with you though, this drink is not tasty whatsoever. The first time you have it, try it in a few sips, because it's strong and might make you gag the first time... :/

For weight loss, couple the drinks with regular exercise and a healthy diet with low amounts of processed foods. :)
