One of the fantastic things about classic Chanel flaps is the versatility of their shoulder straps. They can usually be worn both long and short. We've taken 4 different Chanel flap bags to demonstrate.
Strap Styling on the Chanel Double Flap:

The classic double flap has 4 grommets that the shoulder strap runs through, so it's pretty obvious that it can be pulled into a shorter double strap length. It's well known that this bag can be worn in three ways.
Chanel Mini Flap:

How to adjust the Chanel mini bag's straps is less obvious as there are only 2 grommets out of the top of the bag. The straps can be shortened in two ways:

Option one for shortening the shoulder strap is to pull the strap in and wrap it around the flap.

Option two for shortening is my personal preference, as it puts lower stress on the bag. Simply bring the straps together and tie a ribbon around the straps loosely.
Large Caviar Square Chanel Flap:

The ability to shorten shoulder straps does not only apply to classic sizes like the double flap, mini, jumbo and maxi. It also applies to most other classic Chanel flaps.

The ribbon technique was used to shorten the straps.
Vintage Chanel with Tassel:

Not only are Chanel bags timeless, they are also extremely versatile with the choice of a shorter more casual strap or longer more elegant strap!
Every year I go on a hunt for the perfect fall shoe. This exclusive heel has to be just right and can be so hard to find. We look for the perfect heel height, a superb fit for comfort, a versatile sexy style, the perfect amount of embellishment, not too loose and not too tight around the ankle or thigh… etc, etc! So, I was really surprised that for the last three years in a row, my favorite go-to bootie has been from the same designer: Vince Camuto!
This year, I looked for the perfect wedge ankle boot. Wedges are much more comfortable for wearing around San Franciscan hills. I found perfection with the Vince Camuto's Dena boot.

Also wearing Three Dots blouse, Paige glam rock jeggings, Chanel 2.55 double flap classic bag, and Muubaa cion leather jacket

Here's what I love about these booties! They are super comfortable, have a zip closure so they're not loose and sloppy around the ankles. For a wedge boot, you definitely want something matte and not shiny at all, so this rich suede is perfect.
I like how glamorous the high heel and silver accents make the boot. At the same time, the wedge adds a bit of "I'm not trying hard" look to these shoes. I've been wearing these around everywhere with skinny jeans!
These shoes are on serious sale here. But, size selection is really low, so you can check here, and here too.
Last year, I got a high heel Vince Camuto ankle boot called the Dira.

It is amazing how comfortable these heels are in spite of the 5 inch heel. Because of the ankle height, these boots work best with skinny jeans. For something similar, look here.
My first pair of Vince Camuto booties are these below, the Jerrell.

These look amazing with a skirt or dress, particularly when paired with black stockings. Because the top of the shoe dips down, it keeps legs looking super long. While they're great for shorter hemlines and straight and bootcut jeans, they're not the best with skinny jeans as demonstrated above. A shoe for every occasion! 😉 For similar ones, check this one.

Vince Camuto gets 5 stars in comfort, style and quality! For the price of these shoes, they far exceed my expectations in every aspect! If you're looking for your 2013 Fall bootie, give this brand a try!
What do you think of my Vince Camuto collection?
Chanel makes a lot of different bags, and it can be tempting to buy them all. So, we hope that our Chanel posts help you in deciding which bags you truly want. Today, I'm sharing with you an outfit featuring a lovely single flap Chanel bag in calfskin and gold hardware. Hope you love it!

I love how classic this Chanel bag is. It is totally timeless and would match a bunch of outfits. Slip the chain inside, and all of a sudden, it's an elegant clutch! Plus, the bag has all the signature features of Chanel, the double cc's, quilting and chain leather straps!
Trying to determine if a designer item is counterfeit or authentic can be tricky. We worked with our brand experts to build this fun, interactive "authentication quiz." Do you have an eye for designer items? Can you spot the fakes?
The best prices on the most desirable designers are almost always found on secondhand sites. But there's always that nagging question: "Is it really authentic?" It's so difficult to tell if you're getting an amazing deal or if you're getting ripped off with a fake... for hundreds or even thousands of dollars!

** We expect that some of you will do really well.... This quiz was created for a general audience and had very few "hard" fakes.
Answers: 1. Yes 2. Red one 3. Fake 4. Authentic 5. Fake 6. Left 7. Right 8. Authentic 9. Right 10. Left 11. Fake 12. Right 13. Both
I often see people wearing counterfeit bags, shoes or dresses. Do you think you can spot a fake from afar? We took a picture of 8 authentic Chanel bags and 1 fake one. Test your fake radar!

So, what do you think? Which one is the fake?
The counterfeit is #2.

The Chanel 2.55 classic double flap in small / medium (9-10 inches) is probably the most counterfeited bag in the world! We've put together 6 quick tips that may help you avoid a fake!

Above is an authentic Chanel! Gorgeous, right?
TIP 1: Look at the CC Clasp.

The CC logo clasp on the 2.55 should look like the one on the top. Sometimes, it will be in silver, and sometimes it will be in gold. When it is in gold, it may have a hallmark to represent the gold plating on the hardware.
Fake CC logo clasps can be too skinny or too squat like the ones shown.
TIP 2: Quilting should be symmetrical and line up.

Craftsmanship on Chanel is impeccable. Quilting is always symmetrical, and quilting will always or very closely line up. See how the quilting on the pocket on the left (authentic) Chanel is aligned to the rest of the bag.
TIP 3: Inside leather should be structured.

The inside will be made of leather that perfectly fits inside the bag. This means no wrinkling.
TIP 4: Sticker on the inside left corner.
All late 1980's and newer Chanel 2.55 double classic flap will always have a sticker on the left inside corner. Sometimes, stickers can be lost over time, but a sticky residue spot usually remains in this spot when this occurs. Please note that some fakes will have stickers as well.
TIP 5: Hardware color always matches stamp color.
If the hardware is gold, the inside Chanel stamp will be gold. If the hardware is silver, the inside Chanel stamp will be silver.
TIP 6: Chanel serial card does not have a rainbow reflection.

An authentic Chanel serial card will never have a rainbow reflection on the border or number.
**Please note that these are quick tips and would be considered a beginner's authentication guide. While this will help weed out poor counterfeits, more in-depth knowledge is utilized by experts to weed out the more convincing fakes.
Please note that this authentication guide is in reference to the classic double flap in small/medium (9 inch length) and medium/large (10 inch length). Most of the public oftentimes refers to this iconic bag as the 2.55. However, some only think of the 2.55 as the reissue bag.
We want to share a recent visit that we made to BCBG San Francisco. On this trip, I got the opportunity to try on and review several of the new Herve Leger dresses. Take a look to decide if any of them belong on your wishlist!

I didn't think that this dress would look good on me as I'm short-waisted. Surprisingly, this dress was a delight. The white fabric was thick and had an excellent fit. However, the Josey dress is $3190+tax at retail.

This next aline dress was also quite pretty. If I were to be very picky, I'd have to say that the banding right in the middle of the torso did not work for my particular body type. So far, I've been a huge fan of most Herve Leger flared dresses!

Out of all of the dresses that I tried on during this trip, this beige beaded dress had the most amazing hold and fit. The nude color accompanied with sparkly beading was very sexy. I could not find this dress online, but it is on sale for $1100 in stores. This dress runs small.

Most flared Herve Leger dresses retail $1200 and upwards. This is the only one that retails under $1000. Unfortunately, out of all of the flared skirt Herve Leger dresses, this one had the least hold. All of the other drop-waisted a-line Herve Leger dresses that I've tried have a firmer hold. However, it is still a fun pretty dress!

Red and white are the most beautiful colors that a woman could wear! The color alone makes it a winner! The fit on this dress is looser than most Herve Leger.

Every time I try on new Herve Leger dresses, I make it a point to try on dresses that have ornate designs or interesting shapes. The ruffles on this dress add a sweetness to it. The dress had great hold, but it is much tighter around the hip and hem compared to most other Herve Leger dresses.

This last dress (Kauri) was surprisingly lovely! The fit was phenomenal! And, if you already have a giant Herve Leger collection like me, this dress will bring some variety to your collection. It looks so different! This dress also runs small.
Hope that you found these reviews helpful! 🙂
I've been meaning to get to the Herve Leger boutique for a while now. Things have been particularly hectic, but I did manage to stop at a local Nordstrom and try on a few Herve Leger dresses. In this review, I try on a number of really unique pieces that include separates, a flared skirt and a dress with elaborate patterns.

Loved this Herve Leger top called the Pamela, which I actually wore backwards! It has an amazing fit and is super versatile. This top would look fantastic with many non-Herve Leger skirts and jeans.
The Sabine skirt was not as impressive. Given its high waistline, it would be challenging to pair with non-Herve Leger tops.

I've wanted to try this dress for so long! The colors and design are so lovely! Unfortunately, they didn't have my size in the Linden dress and I had to size up 2 sizes! As a result, this dress was too long and did not fit properly. In spite of that, I think this dress would be very pretty if it were the correct size.

The Philipe jacket had a great fit, but it was not particularly memorable.

This final one was an unexpected favorite. The scoop neckline with short sleeves really balance out the mini length of the dress. While the pattern keeps the dress very chic and modern.
This dress called the Anja is also extremely versatile. I'm actually wearing shoes with a very low heel. This gorgeous little number can be dressed down with flats, or glammed up with heels. Either way, it looks completely perfect. This is one of those few Herve Leger dresses that can be worn for more casual events!

Hope you enjoyed seeing my latest Herve Leger shopping trip! The few items that I did get to try on have only made me want to get to the Herve Leger boutique that much more!
