Did you know that there are actually quite a few Lollipuff members who are male? These guys are superstars when it comes to being a husband or boyfriend. They keep their eye out for seriously coveted items that would make their special half oh so happy! How freaking sweet is that? Anyway, one of these romantic fellows emailed us a dozen pictures of his wife in Herve Leger dresses. We're so delighted to be able to share these with you!

For reference, this lovely lady is usually a size small.
Thank you so much to the lovely lady who modeled and gave us permission to use her photos and thanks to the husband who sent in these wonderful pictures for us to enjoy! It is always so much fun to see other Herve Leger enthusiasts rock these dresses! If you have pictures that you'd like to share, we'd love to receive them. 🙂
Alexander McQueen has such a distinctive look. The styles are modern, sleek and a touch dangerous. Today, I wanted to share an outfit with two Alexander McQueen bags, the Ziggy and De Manta to demonstrate the beauty of this designer line.
De Manta

The De Manta bag is such a young and modern bag. It is structured in its own unique way, and is sure to look very different from the rest of your bag collection. The only negative thing that I have to say about this bag is it's not the most functional purse. Like all clutches, there is not a handle, so it takes up one of your hands. Also, if you are one to constantly open and close your bag to retrieve items, it can become a hassle with this bag. You must bend back the magnetic folds before unzipping. While this is not difficult, it can become annoying.
This bag can easily hold your essentials: phone, wallet, a small notebook, and a few pieces of cosmetics.

Ziggy

The Ziggy is just a hip large black leather bag. It brings a bit of youth and edge to any outfit, and is very functional. It's extremely easy to open and close quickly, super roomy and is worn on the shoulder.

Thanks always for reading! Hope you enjoyed the Alexander Mcqueen Ziggy and De Manta bag reviews and approved of my outfit. 🙂
I recently went to Neiman Marcus to try on some Herve Leger dresses. During this trip, I got to try on some long knee length Herve Leger dresses and the Barbie inspired dresses. Check out my reviews on some of the newest Herve Leger dresses!
If you're new to Herve Leger, make sure that whatever you do, select dresses that are in your size. If you get the size wrong, you won't be able to appreciate what Herve Leger can do for your body!
Zola

I wanted to try on some dresses that I normally wouldn't reach for. The Zola dress was exactly that. It had a crazy animal pattern and was quite long for what I'm used to. It turned out to be quite a nice dress. Its hold wasn't as strong as many other Herve Leger dresses, as there was no banding. But, the signature Herve Leger fabric was nice and thick and extremely forgiving. The print on this dress was what made the dress so flattering, and the short sleeves add a dramatic touch. I also tried this dress on backwards! I think it works! 🙂
Tamar

This dress didn't have the short hemline that I usually love. I did like the drop waist, and think the Tamar dress would look spectacular on tall ladies. My favorite part of this dress was the neckline. 🙂
Dree

The Dree dress fit very similarly to the Zola. Wonderful print and thick forgiving fabric to exaggerate a woman's shape, but no banding for super cinching hold.
Denisa - a Barbie dress
The Neiman Marcus that I went to didn't seem to have the Herve Leger Barbie, but they did have the dresses that inspired Barbie's dresses. Since BCBG is sending us a Herve Leger Barbie, I had to try on these dresses as well in case I want to match the doll! lol...
I have to say Miss Barbie looks much better in the dress than I do. 😛
Judith - a Barbie dress

I'm not exactly sure why the Judith is considered the equivalent of Barbie's red dress. It just doesn't look like the same dress to me. There is a dress from 2010 that is a much closer match to Barbie's red dress. Anyway, enough of my rambling...
Out of all of the dresses that I tried on, I liked the Judith the least. The trim on it just wasn't flattering on my body. And, the length combined with the design was awkward for me. But, that's not to say that it wouldn't look wonderful on someone else!
For instance, one of our sweet wonderful Lollipuff members took the time to email us a picture of herself in Herve Leger at a recent Las Vegas trip! This is a dress that I've NEVER been able to pull off, but it looks fantastic on her!

Thanks for reading and hope you enjoyed joining us on a little Herve Leger shopping trip!
Fashion offers us so many options. For bag shapes alone, we have clutches, bucket bags, structured shoulder bags, crossbody bags, hobos, bucket, tote, etc, etc. Today, I wanted to share with you the three bag shapes that I feel are the most versatile and essential.
If you were to have only three bags, I recommend a small structured bag, a slouchy trendy handbag, and a large tote. These styles are never out of fashion!

The Balenciaga motorcycle bag like my twiggy is the ultimate rocker chic bag. It makes almost any outfit more trendy.
A small structured shoulder bag always polishes up any outfit. The Chanel 2.55 is my most loved bag of all time. It adds a touch of elegance to all outfits. The one in the pictures is a size small 2.55 double flap in navy.
And, finally a great hobo with dramatic hardware is the perfect in-between of a motorcycle bag and a small structured bag. The hardware makes it modern and elegant, while the shape allows the bag to be worn with the most casual of outfits.

Isn't it amazing how much a bag influences the look of an outfit? By switching out the bag, the look is completely different.
We all know that counterfeit items are inferior to the real stuff. But, is there that MUCH of a difference? YES! And, today's post compares a fake Herve Leger to an authentic one. Read on for all the juicy details!

Fit
When it comes to clothing, the number one priority is FIT. Does it flatter the body?

So, obviously, the counterfeiters got the design wrong. But, the bigger difference is the fit. Look at how the authentic dress pulls in the waist and enhances cleavage.
The fake was not tight at all around the waist and quite tighter around the hips and particularly the thighs. The authentic dress focuses on creating an hourglass shape, whereas the fake disregards all of this. Thus, the shape is significantly less flattering.

You can see why the shape is so bad. The dress hardly has any differentiation from the waist to the hips. Then, it narrows around the legs.
This fake is actually a very good counterfeit. Its fit is MUCH MUCH better than most fakes. It is even individually banded, but when compared to the authentic dress, it is no comparison.
Quality
Counterfeiters do not care about the designer's reputation, and they do not have the high standards of a luxury brand. As a result, replicas are very poor in quality and workmanship. Their goal is not to trick brand enthusiasts. Their goal is to keep costs very low and sell high to the general uninformed public at the highest margins possible.

Here are a couple of the quality issues on the fake. The band fabric wasn't even aligned smoothly, and messy black threading is showing on the gray bands!
Durability
Herve Leger counterfeits are often made of the same fabric composition. But, just because a fake is also 90% rayon, 9% nylon, and 1% spandex, the fabric is still quite different. Oftentimes, the elasticity on counterfeits is much stiffer and prone to being stretched out much faster. Different treatments to fabric can enhance favorable characteristics. For instance, authentic Herve Leger utilizes high tenacity rayon. Most rayon that counterfeits use are low tenacity and is very fragile against water and heat. This means that these dresses stretch out with wear or when washed. The lower elasticity also means poorer fit.
Zippers and seams are also quite different in quality. Fakes are more prone to rips and tears.
Resale Value
If you purchase a counterfeit, resale is harder.
1. Everyone wants an authentic luxury item, but many people hate counterfeits.
2. It's technically illegal to sell a fake.
Authentic designer items oftentimes retain their value (sometimes even appreciate!). So, there's no financial benefit to buying a fake.
Embarrassment
Some people don't care... but others are really self conscious when wearing a fake. Because some people can spot fakes very quickly at a distance. 😛 Spare yourself the embarrassment, and treat yourself to the real thing!
These issues apply to not only Herve Leger counterfeits but all fake designer clothing.
Hope you enjoyed our post!
Recently, someone asked me to show my personal collection of Herve Leger. As many of you know, I am OBSESSED with Herve Leger and am continuously trying to keep my Herve Leger hoarding under control. Btw, I don't hoard ANYTHING else. HL just happens to be my personal weakness.
Herve Leger clothing is simply amazing! It never fails to make women feel like a million bucks. And though they're all in the bandage style, each one is quite different from the next.

Love having a Herve Leger top in my collection! I have definitely had more chances to wear this than any of my other Herve Leger clothing.

My collection has a little bit of everything. This front zip turtleneck is to die for; it's incredibly sexy in its own way.

This sounds strange, but I am quite proud of myself; I only have 18 Herve Leger currently. And, there are so many beautiful Herve Leger dresses to be had! This number is always fluctuating depending on needs and wants. Want always trumping need. 😉 And, every once in a while, I might change out a dress for another. But, because these dresses fit so well, it's very difficult for me to let them go...
Hope you enjoyed the Herve Leger eye candy! What does your Herve Leger collection look like?
Did you know that many top designer labels like Chanel, Jimmy Choo, Miu Miu and Balenciaga have miniature bags? When I say miniature, I don't mean very small handbags, but TINY handbags that look like they belong to dolls! They're usually impeccably made, functional, and most of all insanely adorable!
For a serious handbag lover, these tiny bags are irresistible, even though many of them can't hold much of anything. The detail on these tiny little purses is enough to make any fashion lover squeal! Enjoy!
Balenciaga

These teeny weeny bags don't have teeny weeny price tags! The Balenciaga tiny that measures 4 inches wide retail around $350! For a while, Balenciaga also gave away a complimentary tiny when select bags were purchased from their site. They are modeled after the first and city bags. These first came out to celebrate Balenciaga's 10th anniversary of the classic bag.
Jimmy Choo

The Jimmy Choo miniature bags are around 4-5 inches wide making them about the same size as a coin purse. These precious totes also retail around $350.
Miu Miu

Even though my favorite bags are usually Chanel, the Miu Miu miniatures win in the tiny category! They also happen to be the most affordable and retail from $115-$380. They first came out early 2011 and are now harder to find.
Chanel

Miniature handbags are popular as bag charms, but Chanel made many of their micro bags wearable by attaching a long elegant shoulder strap! The tiny bag is under 3 inches wide! The Chanel bags are the most expensive out of all of the other bags. Pre-owned, they are at LEAST several hundreds of dollars.
How much would you pay for one of these little luxury items? And, which one is your favorite?

Last night, Lollipuff appeared on ABC News in San Francisco. If you are located in the SF Bay area, it will air again tonight at 6 pm on KGO-TV. One of our very lovely Lollipuff members, Helen, even offered to open up her closet for ABC to film!!
This video is also available on ABC here.
A very heartfelt shout-out to Helen for responding to our blog post and for offering to be on tv for Lollipuff!! It was amazing meeting you, and we are blown away by your kindness!
Btw, do you see that I'm wearing a Herve Leger? yay! *the little things in life that make me happy* lol... I wore the Herve Leger Faith dress, beige Christian Louboutins and a Chanel bag!
Also a slight correction, as there is an error in the video: I never worked for eBay. However, some of eBay's most well-known consignment stores do pay me to do authentications. Plus, I have helped many people get their money back when they were duped into buying a counterfeit on eBay.
Hope you enjoyed this video! 😛
A while back, we purchased a damaged Herve Leger dress with permanent stains to do a number of experiments on. These experiments are just for fun, and we hope that you find them interesting. For our first experiment, we're going to run a Herve Leger dress through the washing machine and dryer! Curious to find out what happens? So were we!

This is what the stained Herve Leger dress looked like before the wash. It was quite wrinkled. We made measurements of the dress to check if the washing and drying would stretch or shrink the garment.
The washing machine was set on a short delicate cycle with cold water. Regular Tide detergent was used. Afterwards, it was dried on a gentle cool cycle until it was mostly dry. The garment was then laid flat for two days to completely dry.
So... what happened? Here's the result:

Surprisingly, the dress seemed to withstand the wash and dryer pretty well. No stretching or shrinking, and the garment came out fresh smelling, clean and smooth.
However, because Herve Leger is such a high-end luxury brand, I still wouldn't recommend this process for cleaning. It just seems too aggressive to me. My favorite way to wash Herve Leger are the dry-clean cloths.
Did you find this experiment interesting? If you want to see this dress withstand something in particular, let us know in the comment section. For our next experiment, we're going to dye it a different color!!
